Hacky Sack at NOC — Digital Media Institute

The Story

Between projects at the Digital Media Institute at Northern Oklahoma College, a group of us had a ritual — hacky sack. We'd head outside, kick it around, talk through our ideas, get some fresh air and exercise, and then head back to the computers ready to work. It was how we got in the zone.

About the Video

This short film is a casual, candid capture of that culture — students who were serious about their craft but knew how to decompress and have fun. Filmed on the NOC campus in Tonkawa, Oklahoma in 2010, it's less of a professional production and more of a genuine slice of life from the Digital Media Institute days.

Why It's Here

Not every piece in a portfolio has to be a client project. This one is here because it's real — a window into the creative environment that shaped the work that followed. The friendships, the conversations, the hacky sack circle. That's where a lot of good ideas started.
