3D Modeling & Animation Experiment — CVW

The Story

In 2012, I landed my first professional job at Creative Video Works (CVW) in Norman, Oklahoma — the studio where I worked on NBA contracts for the Oklahoma City Thunder, produced content for college sports teams, and created television commercials. It was a serious production environment, and I took full advantage of it.

The Experiment

Outside of client work, I used my time at CVW to push my own skills further. This project was a personal experiment in 3D modeling, animation, and design — built purely to learn, test techniques, and develop a deeper understanding of the craft. No client brief, no deadline. Just the work.

Why It Matters

The best professionals never stop learning on their own time. This experiment was part of the process that made the high-profile client work possible — the kind of deliberate, self-directed practice that separates someone who can follow instructions from someone who can build anything from scratch.
